about

Talkin' New York Folk Revival: The Village Trip Live at the Bitter End 2018 was recorded at the historic Bleecker Street club on September 30. It honored the memory of Robert Shelton, the New York Times critic who chronicled the New York folk revival and whose review of Bob Dylan at Gerde's Folk City on September 29, 1961 is credited with launching the career of the young singer-songwriter.

Heartfelt thanks to all the players who, in the spirit of the great folk tradition, have generously donated their share of the proceeds from this recording to Greenwich House Music School. Founded in 1905 as part of the settlement Greenwich House, Greenwich House Music School strives to provide high-quality, affordable arts education in music, dance, visual arts and theater for students of all ages in New York City’s West Village. The distinguished faculty works to ensure students have the opportunity to experience these programs through private lessons, classes, workshops and monthly recitals. The goal of Greenwich House Music School is to teach students the beauty and transformative power of music, art, dance, and theater to make them lifelong lovers of the arts.
